Roy Shakked

Residing in Los Angeles, Roy Shakked spends his time composing music and recording albums out of his cozy Silverlake studio, stacked with vintage recording gear. He also enjoys playing live when he feels the itch.

After graduating Berklee College of Music, where he supported himself by working as a bar pianist and session player, Roy worked as a video game composer in NYC, then an in-house producer for Los Angeles label Delta Music. He later went on to create his own label, Groove Gravy Records. With a series of aliases, including The Tao of Groove, Jazzelicious, and Holmes, he has written and recorded songs and compositions that have been featured on dozens of television shows, including Independent Lens, CSI Miami, Sex and The City, The OC, The Mr. Men, Nip/Tuck, Suburgatory, Gigantic, and Without a Trace, as well as films such as Day Zero, Cross Bronx, Poseidon and The Devil Wears Prada, among others.

Roy continues to attempt the balancing act of art and commerce. So far, so good.
